Defy Medical is a woman owned and operated business. Our advanced practice registered nurse (APRN), Lyndsey Smith, started her healthcare journey at the age of 18, as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) while pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from The University of Oklahoma. Upon graduation, in 2010, she became an intensive care unit (ICU) registered nurse (RN), in Tulsa, OK. She continued as a travel ICU RN while pursuing her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as an adult-gerontology advanced practice registered nurse. Upon her graduation, in 2016, from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, she became a hospitalist nurse practitioner until 2020. Her 15 years of medical experience led to diverse primary care provider roles such as providing disabled Veterans access to healthcare and caring for adult-geriatric patients in the skilled nursing, assisted living, and long-term care settings. Lyndsey continued in these primary care provider specialties over the last 5 years. Her expertise is caring for the adolescent to geriatric patient populations for acute and chronic disease management. At the heart of her practice is a commitment to providing evidence-based health information and services that empower individuals to make informed decisions. Lyndsey is a dedicated primary care provider (PCP), who is passionate about advancing wellness through personalized and compassionate care. Her healthcare model defies the norm of today’s conventional healthcare by allowing YOU to lead in your personalized health plan. Lyndsey’s goal for her patients is to reach maximum quality of life through restoration, maintenance, and/or comfort. Lyndsey established Defy Medical in 2025 as a place where accountability and the patient’s unique experience is met with the core values of truth, dignity, empathy, respect, and compassion.
